There's no denying it, Eugene Domingo is glowing with the bliss of true love.
Broadcaster Karen Davila recently interviewed the comedienne and got the pleasure of meeting Eugene's Italian husband, Danilo Bottoni, a scene which we'll be chuckling about for a while.
That's because when Karen laid her eyes on Danilo, she told Eugene, "Guwapo naman nito," after which, the smile on Eugene's face disappeared. Eugene quickly replied, "A, medyo lumayo-layo ka nang konti." LOL!

Eugene's love story is one for the books as she found her forever in her mid-40s. At the time, she was exhausted from doing back-to-back films and had already started realizing that she didn't want to be alone when she gets older. In fact, she had even thought of entering the convent.
"Ang paggawa ng pelikula hindi lang naman sa pag-arte, pagkatapos nun ipro-promote niyo pa, pagkatapos 'pag may festivals lalabas ka din," Eugene explained to Karen. "Lahat 'yon gusto ko pero isang araw na-realize ko masarap, kumportable, pero bakit medyo kulang?"
"I can be alone at some point pero mas masaya for me when I'm together with a partner that I can feel that I feel a connection with," Eugene added.
Eugene met Danilo while she was in Italy for the 2014 Udine Film Festival. Danilo, who introduced himself as a friend of Eugene's on Facebook, was a film critic who had watched several of her comedy films and expressed his interest in interviewing her. Eugene was initially skeptical, but when she met him, she was instantly attracted to his eyes. That's when she decided to pursue him.
"Nakita ko na yung mata, Karen. Ang ganda ng mata," Eugene said. "Medyo magda-da moves na 'ko, 'diba, ganyan."
One morning, Eugene sent Danilo a long e-mail to confess her feelings and was shocked to discover that Danilo felt the same way.
"'I want you to know that I did not believe I could have this feeling again, and you know that my religion is love.' And something like, 'I love you, Eugene,'" Eugene recalled.
After a few weeks, Danilo told Eugene that he wanted to marry her.
"He's the man I want and it's unbelievable na sa edad kong 'to, mangyayari pa 'yon?" Eugene shared.
"Para sa akin, what you should look for is a person that will connect to you and you know that even if ang daming challenges—can be distance, can be language, can be culture—ang sentro is, 'I want this man, I love this man, and that man loves me back,' because you will be partners," she added.
"Finding him is really a miracle and the miracle is from God,"
