Yup, it's really happening! In an interview with Cartoon Brew (as reported by Philstar.com), artist, writer, director, and proud Pinoy Ronnie del Carmen confirmed that he's going to be a consultant and producer for multiple Netflix projects. He's worked on Prince Of Egypt, Finding Nemo, Up, Inside Out, Toy Story 4, and Coco. And ICYMI, Pixar film Inside Out, which he co-directed, won Best Animated Film at the 2016 Oscars.

In his interview with Cartoon Brew, Ronnie revealed that one of his projects with Netflix is a feature film "rooted in the lore and mythology of the Philippines." Yay for representation! We *sincerely* hope to see some duwende, engkanto, and sirena on Netflix soon.
Ronnie del Carmen on his *move* to Netflix
Ronnie grew up in Cavite City and studied at the University Of Santo Tomas before migrating to the USA in 1989. "My story starts in a group of islands, in a region that I've now traveled back to many times over. Each time I wish I could stay and relearn what I missed. Now I feel the pull of figuring out the beginning. The parts that I use to make movies began there," he told Cartoon Brew. "So on this new journey, I go where these stories will thrive. I carried these tales to Netflix, and when they heard my story they asked me to tell it here. So this is where I'm growing and nurturing these stories that have never been told, in an arena they deserve to belong to."
That's all the info we have for now, but stay tuned for more deets!
