It seems that netizens have conflicting thoughts on Francine Diaz's recent performance at a local event.
The 20-year-old Kapamilya star was one of the guests during the "Governor and Vice Governor's Night 2024" at the municipality of San Jose in Occidental Mindoro. Pop-rock band Orange & Lemons were also among the performers for the event.

In a clip that has been circulating online, Francine was seen performing onstage singing Taylor Swift's "Love Story." But her performance was obviously marred by sounds coming in from an electric guitar, making it very difficult to even hear Francine's voice. She handled the situation professionally by completing the performance and asking the crowd to sing along with her.
Fans were left wondering why Francine was caught in that unfortunate situation. However, both the camps of Francine and Orange & Lemons, along with the San Jose administration, have yet to issue their respective official statements about the matter.
So when clips of Francine's appearance during the event live stream proliferated online, some netizens made contradicting statements about it. According to Inquirer.net, a staff member from the sound system department disclosed that it was Francine's manager who allegedly forced the organizers to let her perform during that time slot, despite the fact that Orange & Lemons was already preparing for their set onstage.
"Hindi po namin alam kung sino po ang susundin namin, nasa program po lahat na last po si Ma'am Francine. Pero siningit po ng manager ni Ma'am Francine na siya unahin kahit hindi po nila nasabihan ang Orange & Lemons," the comment read.
On the other hand, Orange & Lemons were allegedly informed that someone would only greet the crowd while they were setting up, but when Francine went onstage, she requested for her background music to be played. Hence, she started performing, catching the band off-guard.

Did Orange & Lemons call out Francine Diaz?
Another clip surfaced online where Orange & Lemons' vocalist Clem Castro shared out a "reminder" for other artists. But looking at the turn of events, netizens think that it was his response to what happened with Francine's performance before their set.
"Kailangan kong sabihin 'to, para sa mga artists... Kasi dapat kaninang 11(PM) pa kami dito eh. So sana wala namang sumisingit. 'Yun lang. Respeto lang ba..." Clem remarked while he was onstage. Some comments from netizens and eventgoers noted that the band's performance occurred past midnight.
Meanwhile, Francine thanked fans for staying up late for her performance through an Instagram story. She wrote, "Wasn't able to get all the gifts from you guys but thank you so much for spending time with me tonight kahit late na! Mad respect for everyone who stayed up late."
She added, "Respect goes both ways, gn!!"
