So, after we spotted FRIENDS taking a break from streaming (see what we did there?), we found out where the hit American TV series will be moving to. No, we're not joking—this is all brand-new information—FRIENDS will be available via Max.
Max, a new streaming platform from Warner Bros. Discovery, will be available in Asian countries including the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, starting on November 19, 2024. Max will be featuring movies and series from several brands, namely HBO, Harry Potter, the DC Universe, Cartoon Network, and Max Originals. Shows from some cable networks like Discovery, TLC, AFN, Food Network, ID*, and HGTV can also be accessed on the streaming platform.
As it enters the digital streaming space in the Philippines, Max highlights FRIENDS as one of its most popular offerings to its audience. Starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer, FRIENDS became a hit and went on for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004. The cast delivered a hilarious tale of six friends navigating adulthood amidst the bustling streets of Manhattan in New York City. The show rose to fame thanks to its timeless humor and relatable script that deeply connected with audiences.

Aside from FRIENDS, Warner Bros. Discovery's beloved series and films from the DC Universe, The Conjuring Universe, The Matrix, and Sex and the City franchise are among Max's interesting list of content.
Other known shows for everyone to enjoy in Max (soon) include groundbreaking HBO originals! With Max joining the scene, we'll be getting our chance to binge Game of Thrones, Succession, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, IT: Welcome to Derry, House of the Dragon, The White Lotus, and more!
And for us who are kids at heart, Max will be bringing Cartoon Network and CARTOONITO shows to the table. We can binge our childhood faves like Adventure Time, We Bare Bears, Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, and Teen Titans Go!
How much is Max's subscription in the Philippines?
Like most digital streaming platforms these days, Max will be offering a set of different plans for subscribers to choose from. While the pricing hasn't been revealed just yet, what we know so far is that there will be three plans: mobile, standard, and ultimate.
The mobile plan in the Philippines will allow streaming for mobile phones and tablets, with HD resolution. While the standard plan adds HD streaming on Smart TVs on the list of devices where you can access Max. And then, there's the ultimate plan which offers 4K streaming across devices, plus 100 downloads to watch on the go! We'll stay tuned for the price because we need that FRIENDS fix no matter what.
