Another day, another basher put back in his place. Geneva Cruz is one celebrity who isn’t afraid to clap back against netizens who leave rude and unsolicited comments on social media, as she makes it a point to school those trying to shame her for being confident in her own skin.
While on vacation in Boracay, the singer posted photos of her eight-year-old daughter enjoying the beach with her friends. “With my long-legged baby girl @londonleecruz and our friends,” she wrote in the caption. A netizen then left a malicious comment under the post, which reads: “Buti ang anak mo hindi nag-babandera ng katawan niya.”
Geneva had the classiest response to the basher. “Aww… Putting me down because it makes you feel good. Look at yourself in the mirror and try to realize if your attitude is better than my flaunting of the body I work hard for. I feel sorry for you,” she says.
“Compassion is an important trait to have in this world. Shaming me and comparing me to my eight-year-old daughter is the lowest of the low. I feel sorry for you. Have a good life. I mean it.”
In a separate Facebook post, the celebrity mom reiterated that she will not let bullies on social media stop her from wearing whatever she wants.
“She chose to be rude instead of [being] compassionate. Bullies like her must be stopped,” she says.
“I will continue educating people on social media. Ang saya-saya ng buhay ba’t kailangan makialam sila ng di nila problema at di problema. I said it before, and I’ll repeat it again: I will wear whatever I want until my boobs are down to my toes; if you have a problem with that, leave my site. Respectfully.”
Well said, Geneva!
