Gerald Anderson is currently a supportive boyfriend, and he has no plans to exchange that title for "husband" anytime soon. ICYDK, he and Julia Barretto have been together for five years.
As he talked with the media last August 24, Gerald expressed how content and sure he is about his relationship with the actress.
When asked if Julia was "The One" for him, he responded, "Of course, five years na kami, di ba?" signifying that the time they had spent as boyfriend-girlfriends was enough for him to know that.
Gerald further told everyone how Julia has always been an amazing person. "Yung personality niya, yung pagiging fighter niya, yung pagiging malambing niya. Pag tiningnan mo siya, parang mukha siyang bata, mukha siyang pretty face lang. Pero, hindi. Malalim siyang tao. She's very beautiful inside and out," the actor said about his longtime partner.
But even if he sees himself settling down with Julia, he emphasizes that it won't be anytime soon. For now, he's giving Julia all the spotlight and the time to explore life and her career to the fullest.
"She's very special to me. Alam naman ng lahat yan. Hindi naman magbabago yan. But, itong moment na 'to , yung moment na ngayon, let her enjoy. Huwag nating madaliin," he told the press.
True enough, Julia is definitely in her moment with all her recent back-to-back projects. Just recently, her film Un/Happy For You (which she starred in opposite Joshua Garcia) was announced to have garnered P320 million in box-office sales!
Before her recent film, Julia also top-billed the Viu Original series, Secret Ingredient, alongside South Korean actor Sang Heon Lee.
Meanwhile, Gerald has been busy with his businesses. However this year, he is set to make his teleserye comeback with the series Nobody, where he will be playing a policeman.

Amid everything that the couple has been doing, queries related to their marriage plans appear to be a staple question whenever people get the chance. Julia once went viral for her very candid reaction to someone who asked about—not just wedding plans—but a rumored *secret wedding* between her and Gerald.
On the sidelines of the Preview Ball last September 2023, she admitted that marriage is something they look forward to; however, they are definitely not in a rush for it to happen.
"I mean, it's something to look forward to, pero ba't niyo ba kami minamadali?" Julia asked.
Julia dismissed the secret wedding rumor and said, "I feel like when that moment comes...I feel like it's something to be shared when the two people are ready to share such a thing." She also affirmed that they are both happy and thriving in life at present. "We're just really happy [with] where we are in life."
It was in 2021 when the two went public with their relationship. Along the course of their love story, the two have been open about the idea of marriage.
In 2023, Gerald also revealed in an interview that he wants to marry Julia. "Siya talaga [ang pakakasalan ko])."
For the actor, it wasn't something he planned; rather it was something he just felt for Julia. "You just know, alam mo lang. You just feel na may nagbabago sa ‘yo. You feel na nag-iiba ‘yung priorities mo or mas naging malinaw sa ‘yo ‘yung priorities mo," he shared.
In 2022, Julia also disclosed to the public that she was not *scared* to say "yes" in case Gerald asked for her hand.
