Gretchen Ho is a cyclist-athlete, a host, a news anchor, and...a beauty queen? In a lighthearted vision (that might turn into reality, who knows) from Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2016 Nicole Cordoves, Gretchen is apparently being encouraged to become the next Miss Universe Philippines delegate.
The Binibining Pilipinas beauty queen remarked, "Gretchen for MUP 2024!" While netizens agreed with Nicole, Gretchen appeared to be against the idea. The reason? Well, she thinks she lacks the flair to be a beauty queen.
In response to Nicole, the TV5 news anchor bluntly expressed her thoughts. "um. Kulang ng finesse [laughing emoji]" Gretchen commented.
Despite her reaction, fans showed their support and echoed Nicole's remark. One netizen wrote, "I second the motion!"

Nicole's comment comes after Gretchen posted photos of her uncanny resemblance to Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee. Her Instagram post read, "Sabi nila kamukha ko raw si Gabbi Garcia. Si Michelle Dee kaya? Remove the eyeliner. [laughing emoji]" Netizens agreed with Gretchen and called the three women "triplets."
Aside from her resemblance to Michelle, we can see Gretchen as someone who'd slay the Miss Universe question & answer segment with her wit and experience in life. She has been an inspiration to many young women out there pursuing their dreams, whether in sports or in the media industry.
ICYDK, Gretchen was first a varsity volleyball player for the Ateneo de Manila University from 2008 to 2013. Back then, she gained prominence for her skills and grit as an athlete, and became part of Ateneo's back-to-back wins in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) volleyball tournament.

One thing led to another, and her love for sports led her to become a courtside reporter for ABS-CBN Sports. Now, she is conquering the journalism scene as a news anchor for TV5. Yet Gretchen continues to be an icon for Philippine sports. During the Tokyo Olympics in 2020, she became an official torch bearer for the Philippines. And just this year, she hosted the 2023 FIBA World Cup Draw.
