It's public knowledge that Heart Evangelista's relationship with her parents became complicated when she started dating then-Senator Chiz Escudero in 2012. This resulted in their falling out and with Heart's parents choosing not to attend their 2015 Balesin nuptials. But now in 2021, all is well with Heart's family and Chiz, especially Heart's dad Reynaldo Ongpauco.
In a new vlog, the 36-year-old star spent a week in Sorsogon where Chiz is based because of his governor duties. Right at the start of the video, we see Heart's dad chilling at their residence with Heart even saying she didn't know he was there, LOL!
Apparently, Renayldo has been having a house built there for the past couple of months. We quickly find out that he also has a soft spot for Heart's aspin Panda and has a bunch of other dogs on the premises as well. Cute naman!
But one sweet interaction in the video is of Chiz and Reynaldo talking about a restaurant they wanted to visit. Deciding to tease the two men, Heart suddenly asks her dad: "Bakit hindi ka pumunta sa wedding?"
Reynaldo admits a bit of regret in not attending their wedding and replies, "Sayang, naging bati na sana kami noon pa." Aww!
In the last part of the vlog, we see Heart and Reynaldo being hands-on in their inspection of the construction site:
But here's the most heartwarming part of the vlog: When Reynaldo and Chiz are shown talking to each other, Heart approaches the camera and knowingly says to the camera: "I told you, if you do everything right and you pray a lot, time heals everything."
Yup, it really looks like time does *heal* everything. Happy for your family, Heart!
