Heart Evangelista may be traveling the world for all sorts of events and milestones, but she will always remain a Kapuso. That's an assurance that Heart has given today, July 29, 2024, as she signed a new contract with the media giant, GMA Network.

"In GMA they're open to new things, and collaborating with you. So the next years will be colorful. In fact, even more colorful with the projects that I will be working [on] with them [GMA], of course," Heart wholeheartedly proclaimed during her exclusive contract signing. She has been a talent for GMA Network since 2008 when she was only 23 years old.

The global fashion icon couldn't help but get emotional as she expressed her love and appreciation to everyone who has molded her to be the Heart that we see today. For her, everyone in GMA welcomed her with open arms even when she had nothing to offer—with that, she wanted nothing but to give back to the network.

"I just wanna thank everybody here—naiiyak ako, sorry—because they were with me through the hardest times. When I moved to GMA, I didn't know what to offer. My bosses here say I bring so much life, and all the praises that they would say to me today—but when they accepted me and gave me one of my biggest contracts, I hadn't proven anything," Heart recalled as she broke into tears.

Moreover, the actress-fashion star noted how GMA supported and allowed her to be herself in everything she did with the network. For Heart, it was something she will be forever grateful to the GMA team. "To be with people that will not just give you roles, but will actually allow you to celebrate the biggest role which is being myself. Not just being myself but they actually gave me wings that I can do whatever I want," she declared.

"I think I'd like to do something epic on the big screen in terms of movies probably. There's a certain script that I've been working on. Hopefully, the stars will align and it'll finally happen," Heart disclosed in a sit-down interview with Cosmopolitan Philippines after her contract signing.

When asked who she wants to work with in the future, Heart decided to keep the mystery for now. She responded, "That's also a secret. It will be a giveaway...but I'm sure it's gonna be epic. 'Coz I don't see myself doing a lot of movies, but for sure I'd like to make sure that no rocks are unturned at this point."

As an added explanation, Heart made sure to emphasize that whatever they're preparing for her next project, it's also gonna be a first for the network. "So, basically what I'll do with GMA, one major thing that I'll be doing with them is something that is a first time for them as well," she stated.

What does it mean to be a Kapuso for Heart Evangelista?

Heart has been in the industry for 26 years—more than half of it, she has devoted herself to working with the people of GMA Network. That is why she has always been grateful to everyone. At one point in her speech, she even acknowledged how she literally grew up with the cameramen that she has been working with for the past years.

For Heart, being a Kapuso means belonging to a bigger family who knows and supports her in everything. "I belong to a family that fully supports me. It's also nice because there's familiarity. You always look behind you or beside you that there are people who know who you truly are," Heart declared. She also underscored how everyone's camaraderie inspired her to strive harder as an actress, especially during filming.

More importantly, this family that she grew up with, trained and taught her to survive in any environment she'll take part in. "Everybody worked hard and when it comes to taping, wala ka dapat pag-iinarte. I feel like because I was trained for 26 years to be that way, everything else is like nothing to me. I can be put in any environment and I would survive because we've really gone through so much taping and filming, and that made me who I am today. Make me do anything, I can do it."

With that, Heart remains a Kapuso who's still full of gratitude, perseverance, and love for everyone she has worked with and will work with.

"I am who I am because of all of you today. I will never forget that. Whatever I have, I would like to bring back here, because this is where I truly began being myself. Honest truth is very rare. I am thankful to all of you," Heart affirmed.
