November Cosmo cover girl Heaven Peralejo is still on a high after the successful run of the series ‘Linlang,’ where she played Olivia, the second wife of lead actor Paulo Avelino.
These days, she says she has to answer queries on why her character needed to die, a story development that dismayed fans of the drama-thriller series currently shown on Amazon Prime.
“Every time I go out now, everyone is just asking me, why I died. So I just, I feel very grateful that napansin ‘yung character ko,” she told Cosmopolitan Philippines in an interview.
She said that while studying the script, she was also surprised about why Olivia had to be killed. Netizens wanted Olivia to have a happy ending with Victor, who had suffered from the schemes of Juliana and Alex Lhualhati, roles respectively played by Kim Chiu and JM De Guzman.
“I was actually also surprised when I saw the script but, you know, like we really have to trust the directors and the writers. I think Olivia's death was something important for the story, and for Victor and for every character like Juliana and Alex,” she said.
Heaven also thanked her supporters and new fans who found her acting in the series quite convincing.
“You know, even though it was kind of short, it still made an impact on the audience and to the viewers. I didn't know it would be like this. I did give my best and I'm just thankful,” she added.
Additionally, she reflected on the reason behind Olivia's popularity, attributing it to the character's relatable depiction of unconditional love, which resonated deeply with viewers.
“And a side note, I think that [one of the reasons] Olivia was loved by the audiences, was also because they can relate to her unconditional love. May ganun talaga, masakit magmahal,” she said.
