Heaven Peralejo is embracing sexiness in her life, but she has no plans to make it the focus of her career.

That's a declaration she made in a recent interview with Boy Abunda. The TV host mentioned her connection to the former actress, Rica Peralejo. "There was a time that she went sexy," Tito Boy remarked, pertaining to the era when Rica was making some spicy films in the late '90s to early 2000s.

Heaven disclosed that Rica, whom she calls Tita Rica, gave her some advice for her thriving acting career—and landing more sexy roles isn't one of them. In fact, Rica told her not to pursue sexy roles for her career. Heaven recalled, "Actually, recently nagkita lang kami, sabi niya, 'Naku, 'wag kang magse-sexy ha. 'Wag magse-sexy.'"

The 25-year-old continued, "Hindi na raw kailangan. 'Maganda na 'yung career mo,' [sabi niya.]"

The Cosmopolitan Philippines November 2023 cover star knows the path her career is taking these days, and she herself knows it's going well. "Sabi ko, totoo naman. Wala naman po, wala naman akong plano [magpa-sexy]," she stated.

But choosing not to take on sexy roles doesn't mean she doesn't embrace her own sexiness. For Heaven, it boosts her self-confidence. There's no reason for her to be insecure about her body when she knows well enough how confidently alluring she is if she wants to.

"Yes, and I actually embrace it... It gives me confidence at some point na parang sometimes why should I be insecure with small things when I can be so much more... anong masama sa sexy? It's part of my job too. I got endorsements because of it... It's an advantage," she told Tito Boy.

Heaven Peralejo's career

Being a Peralejo did not mean an easy entry into the industry for Heaven. There were still a lot of hurdles that she had to overcome to be where she is at the moment. If anything, she just feels grateful to have been known as a Peralejo into her career—"Rica is Rica na in the show business," she says.

Heaven's career catapulted when she entered the reality TV show, Pinoy Big Brother in 2016. She voluntarily left the show to be with her mother who was diagnosed with cancer at the time.

Despite that, Heaven's fans stayed true and waited for her return to showbiz. Now, Heaven is making a name for herself. She has starred in several films now and had her own TV series, The Rain In España, together with her current boyfriend, Marco Gallo, and more. She was even part of the cast of the record-breaking series, Linlang, together with Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino.
