Since you're reading this article, chances are you have a Netflix account that you share with one or a few other people. They may be your parents, sibling, lover, bestie, or all of the above! Netflix's multiple accounts feature is totally awesome because it's practical and budget-friendly. Buttttt (yup, it's a big BUT), you're probably a bit iffy about your account's privacy, right? With just a simple tap, you (or anyone you share your account with) can switch profiles which, TBH, crosses some boundaries. And because of this, you've low-key entertained these thoughts in your head: "Oh, sh*t! What if my mom sees that R-rated film I saw last night?" Or if you get a bit too nosy, "Why's my boyfriend even watching Song Hye Kyo's new drama without me?!"
Totally, totally legit feels, you guys. And Netflix has acknowledged this ~semi-hassle~ and gave us the chance to keep our viewing habits private by introducing its new PIN feature! Here's how you can do it on your own account:
Step 1: Pull up Netflix on your BROWSER (not the app). Click the drop-down on the upper right-hand corner and click ACCOUNT.
Step 2: Scroll down to PROFILES & PARENTAL CONTROLS. Go to your own profile and there'll be a drop-down which you should click. Under PROFILE LOCK, select CHANGE.
Step 3: Add a four-digit PIN number to lock the account.
Step 4: Watch anything on Netflix to your heart's desire! Happy ~private~ viewing, y'all!
