Jake Ejercito didn’t hold back in a recent interview with Ogie Diaz. The 28-minute video on the showbiz insider's YouTube channel is a much-needed catch-up with the actor. Jake shared his thoughts on Can’t Buy Me Love, updates on his love life, and his family. It also included sentiments involving Philmar Alipayo, Andi Eigenmann’s partner.

Jake Talks About His Co-Parenting Set-Up With Andi Eigenmann
Currently, Jake says that he and baby mama Andi Eigenmann don’t follow a fixed co-parenting schedule. It’s now based solely on when their daughter Ellie Eigenmann wants to spend time with either parent.
ICYDK, Andi is based in Siargao with Philmar Alipayo, a surfing champion. Together, they own a surf shop and cafe called Happy Islanders Surf Club. They also have two children together, Ellie’s younger half-siblings.
Jake outlines how he has a *civil* relationship with Philmar. He said to Ogie, “Si Philmar, I’ve met him several times ‘pag pumupunta ako sa Siargao. I mean, he’s been kind, courteous, nakapunta na ‘ko ng bahay nila. Pero not to the fact naman na bonding kami, hindi naman gano’n. Thankful lang din ako sa kanya kasi syempre si Ellie nakatira sa bahay nila ‘di ba? And as a stepfather, I’m sure inaalagan niya rin si Ellie. Wala naman reklamo si Ellie sa’kin about him. So very grateful ako na gano’n. Ni hindi ko siya iniisip or pinoproblema.”
Jake Treats His Daughter Like A Best Friend
Ogie asked several questions to discover more about Jake’s relationship with Ellie. Jake highlights that with the small age gap between him and Ellie, they are like friends. “I enjoy it that way. Mas gusto ko na lumalaki si Ellie na open siya sa akin, na she trusts me. Mas gusto ko yun kaysa sa kinatatakutakan niya ako or nagtatago siya o may mga sikreto siya sa akin.”
The father-daughter duo became viral for their hilarious messages to each other.
Jake says usually Ellie spends one month with him at a time before he brings her back to Siargao.
In 2016, five years after Ellie was born, Jake went on record that he was indeed the biological father. It ended years of controversy that involved him and Albie Casiño.
Jake also says that Andi keeps communication open when it comes to concerns with Ellie. “We’re not the best friends pero para kay Ellie, we want the best for her,” he said.

Ogie also asked Jake if there’s anyone special in his life currently. The actor jokingly replied, “Parang wala naman. None that I know of.”
He moves on that he is prioritizing work, emphasizing he’s only been in showbiz full-time for three years. Three days ago, ABS-CBN announced that Jake will be joining the cast of primetime series Cant' Buy Me Love, starring Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano.
