James Younghusband As James Bond: Sean Connery

See the half-British footballer ditch sportswear and take on four of the famous faces of Agent 007 this month!

To say that James Younghusband is a Bond fan is an understatement. The tall, fair, and handsome Fil-Brit football player and underwear model has seen all of the James Bond movies, from the grainy 1960s Sean Connery flicks his dad has on VHS to the Daniel Craig balls-out blockbusters of the new millennium.

That’s why we think James Bond is the perfect theme for this month’s Online Hunk. Sure, Phil Younghusband’s older bro looks hot in trademark jock attire, but we wanted to see him take off the football jersey and glam up for a change, in line with Cosmo's glitzy and glamorous Celebrity Theme this month. And who better to draw inspiration from than the perpetually dashing, endlessly sexy British spy of the same name?

For the whole month, you'll be treated to a weekly eye-candy of James Younghusband taking on four of the famous faces of James Bond, starting with the cool, charismatic, and tough-as-nails Sean Connery! Read on for his Cosmo interview.

Q: What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done?

Probably dancing in front of people. People may not think it’s hard, but for me it’s difficult because I’m usually conscious about the way I look. It’s not something I’ve done regularly in my life like soccer, which I’ve done regularly so I’m not afraid to do that. So dancing, probably. But I’m open to more challenges. I’ve danced; I did Shall We Dance and won. That was pretty lucky. I was pretty happy about it.

Q: What’s the craziest thing you’ve done for love?

Probably drive four hours to see a girl without telling my family. I just got in a car and just drove to see this girl. But then I only saw her for one hour and then I went straight back home. The drive was longer and it cost a lot of petrol money (laughs).

Q: Would you ever get revenge on someone who harmed a loved one?

Definitely. [If someone hurts my loved one] physically, I’d probably get physical myself. I’d get revenge that way. I believe in revenge. When someone offends my family, like when someone shouts at my mother or my brother or little sister, then I step in and have a go at them myself.

Q: In a relationship, would you consider yourself dominant or submissive?

The dominant one. I’m the one who gets pissed off (laughs).

Q: If you could take a girl on a vacation, where would you take her?

El Nido, here in the Philippines. I’d probably say somewhere I haven’t been to yet, but the best place I’ve been to lately in the Philippines is El Nido. The water’s so clear, there’s not much electricity, so it’s kind of an escape from the real world. It’s like a different planet. [It would be] just us and nature.

Q: Are there any males you look up to?

Probably Christian Bale and David Beckham. David Beckham mainly for my soccer. He’s a good role model. I look up to him, the way he has handled his life, the way he has come back from things. His career’s been up. He has had so many ups and downs in his career and he has come back stronger than ever. And Christian Bale, I just think he’s a bloody good actor.

Q: Who’s your favorite Bond villain?

Doctor No. He just looks so evil and uncomfortable and mischievous. He kind of reminds me of Dr. Evil [in the Austin Powers movies] as well.

Q: If you could choose who plays Bond, who would you choose?

Christian Bale, ‘cause he’s British. And it would be nice to see him act cool for once instead of all angry all the time.
