Janella Salvador and Thai actor Win Metawin just graced their first international event as a pair. The two play a couple in their upcoming film, Under Parallel Skies—and we're not gatekeeping all the cute moments they shared together!
Held on March 10, 2024 in Hong Kong, the 17th Asian Film Awards (AFA) honored filmmakers and actors from all over Asia, who have shown great talent and dedication in keeping the film industry alive. The Under Parallel Skies stars graced the event's red carpet together with their film's director Sigrid Bernardo, and producer Richard Juan.
Janella and Win oozed glamor in their all-black designer fits. Janella wore a stunning strapless black gown (and matching sheer elbow-length gloves!) by Filipino designer Mark Bumgarner. She completed the look with an Audrey Hepburn-inspired hairstyle.
"I think this movie has everything. Comedy, drama, romance, I think everyone should watch," Win said during the red carpet event. Janella was seen nodding in approval beside Win as he talked about their upcoming film.
Win also received the AFA's Rising Star Award at the event. "I'm so excited and very honored to be here," the Thai actor noted.
As the duo and their film team gear up for the premiere of their film, Win shared a cute video with Janella hours after their AFA stint.
In the video, Win was seen to be secretly recording Janella—who was beside him—in what appears to be a rehearsal. Janella was busy talking to other people, and didn't notice that Win was recording their moment, while Win was being his goofy and smiling self. There were also snaps of the two laughing together. Cuties!

Janella and Win's film was helmed by Sigrid, who is also known for her blockbuster films like Kita Kita in 2017. Under Parallel Skies is a romantic comedy shot in Hong Kong. It will depict the story of Thai bachelor Parin (portrayed by Win) who comes to Hong Kong to search for his missing mother. There, he meets hardworking OFW Iris (played by Janella).
Aside from searching for his missing parent, Parin and Iris look for the real meaning of love and life together. Their love story shines amid their cultural differences.
Under Parallel Skies will be released not just in the Philippines but also in other Asian countries like Hong Kong, Singapore, and Thailand. The film is distributed by international production company Warner Bros., in partnership with Richard's local film company, 28 Squared Studios.
