Alwyn Uytingco has been dedicating lengthy Instagram posts to his estranged wife Jennica Garcia and their two children Athena Mori and Alexis Severina. While Jennica has not responded publicly to any of them, her mom Jean Garcia has been leaving comments on her son-in-law's posts. Using her verified IG account, @chic2garcia, Jean has been calling Alwyn out for allegedly not replying to her messages and for causing her daughter heartache. The actress repeatedly asked Alwyn to respect her as Jennica's mom.
She wrote, "Wow! Galing mo after everything?!!! Wow ulit!!!" as a response to Alwyn's IG post where he declared his love for Jennica. When Alwyn shared a family photo with Jennica and their two daughters, saying he hoped to patch things up, Jean commented: "Talaga ba Alwyn?!!! Sana sinagot mo message ko sa'yo...respeto kasi 'yon bilang magulang ni Jennica. Kausapin mo kaya ako para magkaintindihan tayo! Ok ka lang ba?"
Her other comments read: "Wow ngayon naiisip mo mga anak mo??? Tama naman yan pero yung heartaches ni Jennica sa'yo?! Ok ba?!!! Tanong lang Alwyn???" and "Haaayyy kawawa kasi ikaw 'di ka marunong makipag-usap Alywn, respeto lang hinihingi ko sa'yo, 'di ka marunong rumespeto sa mother-in-law mo...'yon lang naman...just saying!!!"
As of this writing, Alwyn has not yet responded to Jean's comments. In his latest IG post, he once again declared his love for Jennica and asked for her forgiveness, writing: "Mahal kita, [Jennica]. Sorry sa lahat ng pagkukulang ko. Patawad sa lahat ng pagkakamali ko. 'Di mahalaga kung ano sabihin nila...ang mahalaga para sa'kin ay mga salita na manggagaling sa'yo. Natalisod man ako, hindi ko hahayaan na nandito lang ako. Babangon ako, mahal. At patuloy na babagtas patungo sa'yo. Mahal na mahal kita."
Jennica announced their separation in May 2021. In a June 28 interview with 24 Oras, Jennica said their relationship started having problems in March and added that she is now adjusting to being a single mom. Jennica is returning to acting with a GMA teleserye called Las Hermanas, her first project after getting married to Alwyn in 2014.
