Jeric Raval seems to have sealed a deal with his daughter AJ Raval's boyfriend, Aljur Abrenica, before the two made their relationship official.
In an episode of Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, Jeric revealed that he had "the talk" with Aljur, citing three conditions for Aljur's current romance with AJ.
"'Nung una siyempre kinakausap ko si Aljur dahil 'yung anak ko bata lang. Tanong ko kay Aljur, ikaw ba ay hiwalay?" Jeric told Tito Boy. AJ is turning 23 this year, while Aljur is 33 years old.

Jeric narrated that when they were talking, Aljur confirmed that he was separated:"Sabi ko lang kay Aljur, ikaw ba ay hiwalay? [Sabi niya] opo." Jeric then conveyed three important requests for Aljur when he was still courting AJ.
First, the veteran action star asked Aljur to make sure that he's really confident about being with AJ, since she's still young. "Una 'yung anak ko bata pa 'yan," he said.
The second request pertained to Aljur's former relationship with Robin Padilla's daughter, actress Kylie Padilla. Robin and Jeric are known to be friends as they both reached the peak of their careers as action stars in the '90s.
"Ano na lang sasabihin ko sa biyenan mo 'pag nagkita kami? Baka sabihin kinukunsinti kayo. I-ayos mo muna 'yung sarili mo hijo," Jeric narrated during the show.

In 2021, Jeric told PEP.ph that he had warned Aljur to fix everything before committing to AJ. "Sabi ko pa sa kanya, 'I have nothing against you, kaya lang kaibigan ko ang biyenan mo. Kung in good faith naman ang panliligaw mo sa anak ko, well, then kailangan nasa ayos ang lahat. 'Gaya nga ng nasabi ko, hindi magiging masaya ang isang relasyon kung may natatapakan," the veteran actor stated.
Lastly, the most important request from Jeric is marriage. He candidly professed that he wants Aljur to marry his daughter AJ. "Ang anak ko gusto ko pakasalan mo. Basta pag ayos ka na, wala ka nang problema, pakasalan mo 'yung anak ko."

Aljur and his ex-wife Kylie married in December 2018. In October 2021 the ex-couple announced their separation after almost three years of marriage. This 2023, Kylie disclosed to the public that their annulment was already being processed and that she wants the best for AJ and Aljur.
AJ and Aljur are slowly opening up about their relationship on social media. In fact, for the first time, AJ herself addressed rumors that she was the "third party" who caused Aljur and Kylie's breakup.
In a Facebook livestream on August 15, Tuesday, the actress denied the rumors and said, "'Di baleng tawagin niyo na 'kong kabit and all, pero I swear to God—ikamatay man ng pamilya ko ngayon—nag-start yung relationship namin na wala kaming nasasaktan."
AJ and Aljur made their relationship Instagram-official on February 14, 2023 by sharing sweet photos of them together.
