Jericho Rosales still has the rizz. Not that we ever questioned it, but this time, it's based on his recent comments on Janine Gutierrez's Instagram pics. We actually can't look past an IG post from Janine without spotting a comment from Echo.
Recently, Janine wowed the Internet with her dainty yet alluring bikini photos in Venice, Italy. She attended the Venice Film Festival 2024 for her film Phantosmia, directed by Lav Diaz. As Janine was gaining attention for her Venice appearance, there was one person in Manila who seemed to be simping hard for her: Echo.
Janine was enjoying her "euro summer break" in a chic blue two-piece bikini and there goes Echo commenting with a GIF showing a man kinda suffering because of hot weather. But his comments didn't end there. He even cared to elaborate, "Dapat weather report ginawa ko kanina sa @tvpatrolph." This is in reference to his recent "Star Patrol" guest appearance at the newscast. It was a way to promote the actor's new teleserye, Lavender Fields, which he stars in with Janine.
There's another comment that didn't escape our radar. You see, Janine not only showcased her acting prowess at the film festival but also her stunning visuals. The 34-year-old strut down the red carpet event wearing a Vania Romoff ensemble that looked elegant on her.
The 44-year-old actor left another funny (and cheeky) comment on Janine's red-carpet snaps. He said, "Medyo hirap na ang kalooban ko [insert crazy emoji]" Not that we're complaining, of course. We love seeing this side of Echo!
Fans were rather amused with Echo's takes on Janine's photos. He gives all sorts of supportive comments for the actress, whether it's for her milestones or just for her casual IG posts, and it's just so cute!

Echo and Janine have been going all out with their dating stage since they confirmed it just last month. So much so that Echo appears to be welcomed by Janine's family. ICYMI, we've recently discovered that dating Echo actually entails getting a harana from him. Echo serenaded the legendary singer, Pilita Corrales, at the latter's 85th birthday party and had fun with the Gutierrez-Corrales fam! ICYDK, Miss Pilita is Janine's grandmother.
In a clip uploaded on X (formerly Twitter), Echo sang "Change the World" by Eric Clapton. He even gave a short introduction before sending kilig vibes to the crowd through his wonderful voice. He told Pilita before singing, "My mother sings your songs and Janine knows about this. You were big in our house because she just sings your songs. Who doesn't sing your songs anyway?"
The two admitted that they have been going out on dates and are both at the getting-to-know-each-other stage. Rumors about their romance first sparked when they were spotted hanging out at a mall and also because of their same posts detailing a recent museum visit!
In a report by ABS-CBN News on August 14, 2024, the actor lightheartedly responded to the queries and revealed that he gradually realized how *into* Janine he is after accepting the offer to star in Lavender Fields. "Yes, we're going out. [...] I first decided to join the project because I was so into the production team and everyone and then I realized I was so into her," Echo said. The Cosmopolitan Philippines February 2024 cover star also made sure to praise his fellow Kapamilya actress in that moment.
Janine was also cool with talking about their relationship, following Echo's revelations. In a separate interview, the actress expressed how amused she was at the fact that Echo already disclosed their status to the public. Her initial reaction was laughter, followed by her jesting about how Echo got comfortable sharing things about them.
"It's been fun getting to know him and hanging out with him outside of work. So masaya naman," she happily told the press.
The two are both starring as Tyrone and Iris in Lavender Fields, which you can stream on Netflix.
