Jessy Mendiola is finally making her acting comeback but she's worried about how there have been a lot of changes during her hiatus. That's why one of the first things she did was to consult her husband about her upcoming work.
Jessy took an indefinite break from acting projects in 2019. It was a couple of years before she got married to Luis Manzano and also became a mother to their daughter, Isabella Rose. This year, Jessy has been confirmed to star in her comeback teleserye together with another Kapamilya actor, Gerald Anderson.
Jessy and Gerald will be starring in the series Nobody, where they will play the role of a married couple. In an interview with PEP.ph, Jessy disclosed that she already had a conversation with her hubby regarding possible romantic scenes with Gerald. She recalled asking Luis (whom she calls Howhow), "Love, okay lang ba na may mga romantic scenes? Howhow, siyempre hindi naman natural 'yun kung hindi kayo sweet sa isa’t isa, di ba?"
The soon-to-be 32-year-old actress noted that Luis had no problem with Jessy's situation. Luis pointed out that he has long understood what it takes for an actress to do onscreen since his mom is the "Star for All Seasons" Vilma Santos-Recto.
"Ano ka ba, Love? Wala sa akin yun. Sanay na sanay nga ako kay Momski. Kasi, di ba, si Momski din nung dating panahon, nung bagets pa si Luis? Alam na niya yun. Sabi niya, 'Naiintindihan ko yan. It’s part of our job.' Ayun," Jessy recounted Luis telling her.
Jessy affirmed how supportive and excited Luis is for Jessy's official showbiz comeback. "So, for me, I’m grateful that he’s also very supportive sa akin," Jessy said.

Jessy Mendiola on juggling work and motherhood
Jessy's return to television was announced on July 2, 2024, when she held her contract signing with ABS-CBN and Star Magic. Despite the demands of showbiz nowadays, Jessy is determined to take it slowly and one day at a time. After all, she did not want to leave her duties as a mother.
She disclosed to PEP.ph that her talent agency, Star Magic, has been understanding and patient when it comes to Jessy's schedule. Although she is set to make her return to showbiz, Jessy is also focused on still being a hands-on mom for her daughter.
Jessy admitted that she couldn't commit too much time for work because her family is her top priority at the moment. "Sabi ko, "I have to be there for my daughter, also of course, for Luis." Tapos sabi ko, time management talaga. So sabi nila, "Oo, sige, sige. Ayusin natin yan." So now, talagang inayos na nila ang schedule for the soap and 'yung sa personal schedule ko rin."
