Singers John Legend and Kelly Clarkson are set to remake a classic Christmas song that came under fire during the #MeToo movement, "Baby, It's Cold Outside"only this time, with new lyrics that better emphasize consent.

The pair, who've both served as judges on The Voice, are updating some of the more questionable original lines (which include "I ought to say, no, no, no sir," met with "Mind if I move in closer?") in their remake. Some radio stations even banned the song last year after it was criticized. In the past, it's been covered by numerous high profile names, including Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews, and Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, John said the upcoming track (which will feature on his new festive-themed album) has revised lyrics, such as:

"What will my friends think..."

"I think they should rejoice,"

"...if I have one more drink?"

"It's your body, and your choice."

John has always been an equal rights ally and advocate for consent, notably being the only high profile musician to appear in the R Kelly takedown documentary, Surviving R Kelly, branding him a "serial abuser." R Kelly has denied the claims.

Speaking on the subject again recently, John said, "A few years ago, we had a party at the house and we had a DJ playing music. R. Kelly came on and I walked up to the DJ and said, 'We don't play him in this house.'"

We'll be keeping our ears pricked for when the new version of "Baby, It's Cold Outside" drops!
