Don't freak out—but we're here to tell you that Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin are making a comeback project together! This is not a drill folks, the unforgettable '90s love team will be headlining a new movie called Ex Ex Lovers.
The announcement came from two production companies, Cornerstone Entertainment and Project 8 Projects. In an Instagram post uploaded on October 31, 2024, Cornerstone revealed, "Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal are returning together to the big screen for Ex Ex Lovers."
Joining Marvin and Jolina as cast are Juan Karlos Labajo and Loisa Andalio. The film will be under the direction of JP Habac, who also directed I'm Drunk, I Love You. According to Cornerstone, the film is their first film collaboration with Project 8 Projects after the two production companies curated the Netflix series, Replacing Chef Chico and two seasons of Drag Den.
Even though there are still no initial details about the plot of their comeback film, longtime fans are already brimming with excitement at just the fact that Marvin and Jolina are coming back to the big screen. Well, imagine your favorite childhood love team making another project in this generation—probably a dream come true. Case in point: MarJo fans!
"Ay grabe naman talaga ang kilig ko. Take me back to my younger years sa panahon na kayo madalas ang inaabangan kong love team," one fan wrote on Marvin's IG. The actor-chef uploaded a video with Jolina, just in time for the start of their promotions for their film.
Another said, "Ackkk!! Kakilig kayo!! Very excited na talaga for the comeback movie!!"

Jolina and Marvin's last official film as a love team was back in 1999 in the film, Hey Babe! which was directed by renowned director Joyce Bernal. But aside from that, the two celebrities reached the peak of their careers through their blockbuster hits, Labs Kita...Okey Ka Lang? (Remember Bujoy and Ned?!) and Flames: The Movie.
Like most love teams in the Philippines, the two were rumored to have started a real relationship back then. Jolina once admitted that she fell for Marvin at some point, but well, life has other plans for both of them. At present, Jolina is happily married to Mark Escueta and they are parents to Pele and Vika.
"Syempre kapag love team kayo, one of you is bound to fall in love with the other. Nako, feeling ko ako lang! Sabi niya siya rin daw pero hindi ako naniniwala," Jolina openly shared in a 2022 vlog with fellow former teen actress Camille Prats.
