It's never too late to celebrate wins, especially if it's Juliana Gomez's. The 23-year-old just completed her college journey and we are every bit inspired because of her.
We know it's doable, but it is quite a feat to excel in both sports and academics. So, seeing Juliana graduate a cum laude from the University of the Philippines while knowing how she won collegiate competitions for fencing amazes us, to say the least.
Last July 29, Juliana took to Instagram to post the surreal moment of finally finishing college. Wearing UP's famous "Sablay" she wrote, "Isang karangalan ang maging Iskolar-Atleta ng Bayan. Maraming salamat sa pagkakataon na ito, UP! Mahal na mahal kita. #Sablay2024."
Juliana's parents, Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres, were in high spirits as they attended her graduation ceremony at the Diliman campus on July 28, 2024. Juliana graduated with a degree in Public Administration.

Richard Gomez's heartwarming message for Juliana Gomez
The actor-politician and proud father posted a video montage of Juliana's graduation moments via Instagram. Along with the video came a beautiful message that encapsulates how excited he is for their one-and-only daughter's future.
"I vividly remember your first day in school as a young child. I drove you to your school near the house, you were in a white shirt and jeans in rubber shoes," Richard began recalling the early days of Juliana's academic life.
He continued, "Look at you now all grown up and a college graduate in Public Administration at the UP Diliman and a Cum Laude. Congratulations ‘day! Mom and I are so proud of you."
Richard even divulged how he and Lucy both cried upon seeing their daughter's college success. Like any parent out there, Richard got all nostalgic about Juliana's growth. "Mom was in tears going up the stage. My eyes were in tears too when I went back to my seat as things sank into my head and realized how time flies so fast," he emotionally said.
But with Juliana with a great life ahead of her, her parents vow support and love for the 23-year-old. "Go on and make things better and beautiful," Richard concluded his post.
Richard's IG reel also captured Juliana's boyfriend, Miguel Bautista, celebrating with them during the ceremony. Of course, they took photos together. ICYDK, yes, Juliana also has a thriving love life. Even if she's not posting a lot of couple photos, she has been open about it. After all, Juliana is the person who thinks beyond the present. In a 2023 interview, she noted that she didn't want to be known as a person who was in a relationship with someone.
Besides, Juliana doesn't date someone without her parents' blessing! "I'm a firm believer in this thing...that I won't leave the house without my parents' blessing 'cause I always feel like if I do leave the house and they don't know where I am, or if I don't have their blessing, I feel like I'm unsafe all of a sudden or that I'm not protected by their blessing," she also said in the same 2023 interview.
We actually wanna ask Juliana: what's next for her? But, for now, we'll let her soak up and savor her college graduation, which is indeed one of the greatest milestones one can achieve! Congratulations, Juliana!
