You probably didn't expect "Kalderong Ginto" to be on the top trending spot on Filipino Twitter today. Is it a typo? Is it really about a golden kaldero? Did something happen to yesterday's episode of Kadenang Ginto that somehow involves a kaldero?
Here's the sitch: The government recently built a gigantic "kaldero" or cauldron in preparation for the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) torch lighting ceremony, which will be held at the New Clark City Sports Hub in Tarlac later this year. The kaldero is not made of gold, of course, but its hefty price tag—a whopping P50 million—will almost make you believe that it is.
People couldn't help but react to news of the ~overpriced~ cauldron, and it drew considerable flak online. Netizens are saying that the money could've been used for funding to help athletes, general healthcare, or the construction of classrooms.
Today, some Filipinos decided to make light of the situation, and the cauldron is now *unofficially* called...the Kalderong Ginto!
Here it is next to an actual *gold* kaldero:
Same, guys. Same.
But, no. It's a whole new teleserye.
Daniela, Romina, Cassie, and Marga would be *shookt* to hear about this.
Thank god it's just a kaldero.
