Last September 16, Wilbros Live brought noise to the ~peaceful day~ of Filipino DANITYs (KANGDANIEL's fandom). They announced that the Hallyu star will be having a concert here in the Philippines on October 22, 2022 at the New Frontier Theater! And so, whether you're a casual listener, a new DANITY, or even a pioneer one, we have prepared a KANGDANIEL guidebook for you.
One remarkable feature about KANGDANIEL that stays with you after you have seen him is his puppy-like innocent eye smile that will have you thinking about how a 25-year-old guy can look as cute as him. He was my Wanna One bias for multiple reasons! As an only child, he is very sweet to his eomma (mom).
KANGDANIEL has released a total of five EPs and one studio album. While releasing bop after bop, he also ventured into the world of acting and starred in the K-drama Rookie Cops. As the multi-talented singer-songwriter and actor's career steadily goes up, we listed facts about him to help you get to know him more. 1. His birthday is on December 10, 1996.
And that makes him a certified Sagittarius! Those under this sign are analytical yet creative and they are a firm believer in getting things done. They have a radiant, personable nature and always seem to be full of good humor and enthusiasm, which is very evident even in just seeing KANGDANIEL's warm smile.
2. His real name is Kang Euigeon.
Sometimes, it can be really frustrating when you always have to teach people how to pronounce your name the right way. KANGDANIEL is no stranger to that! Because his relatives back in Busan kept mispronouncing his birth name, he decided to change it legally to KANGDANIEL.
3. His MBTI is ENFJ.
In his comeback show for Cyan promotions in 2020, Daniel took the famous MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) test while one of his cats, Ori, was sitting comfortably on his lap. His result turned out to be ENFJ, The Protagonist. An ENFJ type has charisma and the energy to be a great leader, making it a point to create a positive impact on the world.
4. He has four cats.
KANGDANIEL has adopted four cats and named them Rooney, Peter, Ori, and Jjang Ah. He describes himself as a human who loooves cats. Rooney was his first cat and he met her when it was raining. Peter was his second, and he was able to have her by agreeing to feed Peter when his co-worker asked him if he was interested in breeding a street cat. His third cat, Ori, is the timidest out of the four, and Jjang Ah really likes to be hugged.
5. He has collaborated with Jessi.
One of KANGDANIEL’s tracks in his first full album, The Story, featuring the Korean singer-rapper Jessi. The song, "Don't Tell" was supposed to be sung by KANGDANIEL alone but he thought it would be better if it could be featured with a female artist so he asked Jessi and the latter gladly accepted the offer.
6. He is scared of bugs.
In BuzzFeedVideo's 30 Questions In 3 Minutes with KANGDANIEL, he made it clear that he hates bugs. In the variety show It's Dangerous Beyond The Blankets, there were a lot of scenes when he would run away from these bugs, or even catch and kill them with the bug swatter he brought that's a little smaller than the size of an actual tennis racket!
7. KANGDANIEL holds a Guinness World Record.
It has been announced by the Guinness World Records on January 3, 2019, that KANGDANIEL has achieved a new record for having the fastest time to garner one million followers on Instagram, beating Pope Francis' 2016 record. To be exact, Guinness World Records confirmed that it only took Daniel only 11 hours and 36 minutes to reach that one million mark. Talk about impact!
8. He appeared in Davichi's "Days Without You" music video.
In the year 2018, KANGDANIEL got the opportunity to star in the South Korean pop duo's "Days Without You" MV for their 10th anniversary full-length album. DAVICHI decided to choose him as the male lead because they thought it would be nice to have a guy who is pure and suits snowfields well. This showed a bit of KANGDANIEL's talent which earned him love calls for his acting.
9. His shoulder’s width is 60cm.
During the Produce 101 Season 2 series, a few of the trainees stepped up to see how broad their shoulders are for their physical test. One of them was KANGDANIEL and the crowd was surprised when the trainer announced that his shoulders is 60 centimeters wide! Daniel shared that he achieved it by doing a hundred push-ups per day.
10. He can't play any ball games.
In BuzzFeedVideo’s 30 Questions In 3 Minutes with KANGDANIEL, when asked the question, "What's something that most people don't know about you?", KANGDANIEL confessed that he can't play any ball games like soccer, basketball, etc.
11. He has been named as Honorary Ambassador for Busan City.
In 2019, the people of Busan City voted KANGDANIEL as the person they think is most fitting to promote the city. He felt honored that the people voted for him and promised to act appropriately, being a figure that many people will have their eyes on as the promoter of the city.
12. KANGDANIEL's First Parade tour in Asia will kick off in Manila.
Filipino DANITYs must have missed him so much and we're sure he missed us, too! His First Parade concert in Seoul happened last August, and this is his first concert after debuting as a solo artist in 2019.
