It looks like we're about to see a different side of Asia's Box Office Superstar Kathryn Bernardo this time around. She stars with Golden Globes Nominee Dolly De Leon's in A Very Good Girl, and its first teaser just dropped —and whoa, we did not expect to see *that*.
Kathryn started her career as a child actress, and she showed a different side of her in this new film. This is her first dark-comedy project! Curious? We've listed down a couple of things which we absolutely adored from the film's teaser.
All The Things We Adore From A Very Good Girl's First Teaser:
1. A Very Creative Set
The film's teaser gives off that lavish and sassy vibes. From the extravagant buildings, the expensive-looking staircase, and luxurious wardrobe. The teaser implies that the film is set in an empire-like environment. And it suggests possible twists and turns throughout the movie.
2. Kathryn's Million-Dollar Look
SLAY. Kathryn's look for this film is definitely *slaying*—especially the eye makeup! Despite seeing only a glimpse of their wardrobe, it's pretty obvious that Kathryn will give us major *baddie* energy because of her outfits! An absolute stunner, IMHO. This is quite new as we've mostly seen her with the usual casual and girl-next-door looks from her previous works like 2 Good 2 Be True, Hello, Love, Goodbye, and Barcelona: A Love Untold.
3. This Time, No Mercy
Indeed. This time, Kathryn spared no mercy with her acting skills. No more of the lovely and caring glances. No more of her humble and angelic character. She is not your regular "very good girl." Kathryn excites us with a cunning and unstoppable character. It looks like her role as Philo will literally drive us insane.
4. Iconic Lines
It's just a teaser, we know. But what we also know is that A Very Good Girl is wired to provide us with lines so iconic that we'll never get over it. TBH, we can't forget about Kathryn's lines: "You're an empire of your own" and "She's a murderer!"
ICYDK, Star Cinema released two versions of the teaser —one on Twitter and another on YouTube. The two versions have two different ending scenes. The Twitter version has Kathryn saying, "Putangina niya" in a distressed manner. While the YouTube version shows Kathryn in a fit of fury while screaming.
5. Dolly And Kathryn's Mother-Daughter Tandem
This duo *mothered* every scene in the teaser. They are going down in history for their looks, their lines, and TBH everything they've done in this film.
We're so excited to see more of their scenes together and how the story will progress. By the way, the teaser seems to have hinted that Kathryn's character was pursuing Dolly's character to pretend as her mother.
A Very Good Girl is written by Marionne Dominique Mancol and directed by Petersen Vargas. This much-awaited film also presents a star-studded and almost all-women cast including Angel Aquino, Chie Filomeno, Donna Cariaga, Gillian Vicencio, Kaori Oinuma, Althea Ruedas, Nathania Guerrero, Ana Abad Santos, Nour Hooshmand, and Jake Ejercito.
