KC Concepcion revealed that she contracted COVID as the actress penned an emotional Mother's Day post for her Megastar mom, Sharon Cuneta.
KC, who's currently in the United States filming the romantic comedy Asian Persuasion, posted on May 8, "Mama, Happy Mother's Day! Your voice is all I needed to jumpstart my recovery and win this battle against COVID."
The actress' post came with an old photo of herself and her mom. She continued her post by writing, "You are the salt to my pepper, you spice up my life in ways no one else can. I love you the moment you made me, and I will love you forever and ever."
“Enjoy your special day today @reallysharoncuneta,” KC wrote.
KC first revealed that she contracted COVID in a now-deleted post on Instagram Stories on May 6. The actress shared that the virus had affected her brain and she has been saved from "possible paralysis."
KC shared, "I have my dearest doctor, the brilliant Dr. Albert Recio to thank for acting urgently, and arresting a possible paralysis the other day due to a neurological effect COVID had on me."
"What I thought was a mild bout turned into something much worse overnight. I felt a change in my motor skills and also knew it was hitting my brain… It's like nothing I'd ever experienced before," KC wrote.
KC said that she's on the road to recovery and is indebted to her doctor. She added, "It's my sixth day today since the onset of symptoms and I am still weak but regaining strength slowly but surely!"
In another Instagram Stories post, KC shared an unfiltered selfie and shared that she still has three more shooting days left and is working on her recovery. She also said that she needs a negative swab test to be able to go back to work again. KC added, "Stay SAFE everyone! This is not like the flu. It's a whole different animal. I evaded it for three years! But just like that, it got me. From an asymptomatic person who unknowingly passed it on. Try your best to live your healthiest life!"
