Kim Chiu's older sister, Lakambini "Lakam" Chiu, is deeply thankful after being hospitalized for weeks.
Earlier in April during her 33rd birthday, Kim asked netizens to pray for Lakam's recovery.
"Today is different. I wish it were different," she wrote in an IG post, featuring photos of a hospital corridor.
"Kung may hihingin man akong regalo sa inyo ngayon 'yon ay prayers para sa Ate Lakam ko. Everything happened in a snap of a finger. She is my strength, and now the word strength becomes blurry. Please pray for her recovery."In late April, Kim confirmed that Lakam had been transferred from an ICU room to a regular hospital room.

On IG, Lakam shared the good news that she had finally been discharged after 18 days. She also described her family's ordeal while she was unconscious in the hospital. It is not clear what her critical condition was.
"Dear family, friends, and loved ones, first of all, I would like to say THANK YOU for all your intentions and most especially your prayers," Lakam wrote. "I was discharged from the hospital on Friday, May 5, 2023: My 18th day of confinement."
"I was in a very critical stage for the first five days," she shared. "Unable to talk, hear and see. I couldn’t even imagine I was able to get through it… Being in this kind of situation is no joke. My family had to make a life-changing decision without them knowing if I could make it or not. I really want to thank my doctors who made sure I get the best care every step of the way."
