Kim Chiu is enjoying a well-deserved peak in her career and it's going international! The country's self-tagged "Chinita Princess" is this year's Outstanding Asian Star at the Seoul International Drama Awards.

Kim Will Formally Receive The Award In September
On July 28, 2024, Kim shared the good news on her Instagram. Her carousel post includes her letter from the Seoul International Drama Awards, confirming her win.
"I got the news today! I am lost for words...beyond thankful, grateful, and extremely happy!!! I can't believe this is happening," writes Kim in her caption. She thanks the award-giving body, ABS-CBN, Dreamscape Entertainment, and her fans. "I am very lucky to have you all behind and beside me. Thank you for making this possible!"

Iza Calzado, Yassi Pressman, Bela Padilla, Vhong Navarro, and Melai Cantiveros all left congratulatory messages in the comments section of Kim's post.
Kim's win is in recognition of her acting prowess in Linlang. The TV series casts the often-sweet actress in a different light as Juliana Lilang. The role saw Kim give life to a lying, manipulative persona. Linlang also stars Paulo Avelino, JM de Guzman, and Maricel Soriano.
For Kim to receive the Outstanding Asian Star award, she had to best other actresses from South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, including Malaysian actress Emily Chan, and Indonesia's Ochi Rosdiana. The award was determined through public voting using the IDOL CHAMP app from June 15 to July 14.
The awards ceremony will be on September 25, 2024. Since 2006, Seoul International Drama Awards aims to recognize Asian TV dramas and creatives. This year, it welcomes 346 dramas from 48 countries/regions. It is presented with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of the Republic of Korea and the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
