Fact: *Everyone* loves IU. Proof: Her two-day concert in Seoul was sold out (85,000 fans reportedly attended) and a loooot of Korean celebrities were present, including Lee Joon Gi and Kim Soo Hyun!
Over the weekend, the Nation's Sweetheart held her first offline concert titled The Golden Hour after three years. She performed at the Seoul Olympic Stadium and you guys, it was truly one-of-a-kind! There were fireworks and a drone show, and what made the nights even more memorable was when IU sang from a hot air balloon designed as a strawberry moon—an inspiration from one of her hit songs. IU said that she wanted to get closer to Uaenas (her fans) that's why she prepared for this special stage. *wipes happy tears*
P.S: She also mentioned that this is the last time she'll be singing her tracks "Good Day" and "Palette" at her concert as she bids ~goodbye~ to her younger self.
ICYDK, IU is friends with a list of Korean stars and they were very supportive of her concert. One of them is Soo Hyun whom she has worked with multiple times, like in the K-dramas Dream High, The Producers, and Hotel Del Luna. He also made a special cameo in the music video for "Ending Scene"! IU and Soo Hyun basically grew up together, and would always support each other's projects. For The Golden Hour, the actor did just attend his BFF's concert but also promoted it on his IG stories.
Joon Gi is close as well to IU. Over the years, they've remained in touch with each other after leading the heartbreaking 2016 series Scarlet Heart Ryeo (we want a season two!). The actor is often spotted at her concerts in Seoul, where he would take photos with her backstage. On his Instagram account, Joon Gi expressed his joy in attending The Golden Hour, and he even showed his very own IU lightstick. "All these gifts make me feel as if I have the whole world. Thank you, Jieun (IU's real name). You did great! That was amazing. I am back to the set with a lot of inspiration and strength," he wrote. Aww!
Fun fact: The cushions at IU's concert were prepared by her mom so that Uaenas can enjoy the event comfortably. Each fan gets a cushion that they can take home.
IU's other besties Yoo In Na, Kang Han Na, and T-Ara's Jiyeon were also in full support. Actors Jung Tae Woo, Park Ju Hyun, Anupam Tripathi, Kim Min Seok, and Lee Joo Young attended The Golden Hour, too.
IU is not just admired by Uaenas and her friends but also by her fellow K-pop idols, such as BTS' Jungkook who's a huge fan! The other K-pop stars who were present during her concert are ITZY and Jay Park (as special guests), BTS' J-Hope, TXT's Beomgyu and Soobin, TWICE's Jeongyeon and Nayeon, Heize, VIVIZ, KARA's Jinyoung, 2AM's Seulong, Golden Child's Joochan, and The Boyz's Changmin, among others.
