2022 is such a great year particularly for K-pop girl groups. We already saw new rookies topping charts and getting viral hits on social media. This is what happens when you release good music and it's pretty much applicable to LE SSERAFIM. The five-piece girl group's name is basically an anagram of the words "I'M FEARLESS."
Under Source Music (a subsidiary of HYBE Labels), LE SSERAFIM consists of members from different backgrounds and nationalities. They debuted on May 2, 2022, with their first mini-album, FEARLESS, carrying the title track of the same name. Cheers if you're one of those who danced to the "FEARLESS" choreography since its release! Now that you know a bit about the group, it's time to introduce the members.
Here's your guide to the members that form LE SSERAFIM:
1. Chaewon
If you're a K-pop fan for quite some time already, you only need little to no introduction to LE SSERAFIM's leader, Kim Chaewon. She first debuted as a member of IZ*ONE after joining the Mnet survival show, Produce 48. Chaewon was born in the year 2000 and she celebrates her birthday every August 1. Being the all-rounder that she is, she can maintain her amazing vocal stability while doing difficult dance routines. There's no need to wonder why Chaewon is overflowing with talent! Just so you know, she is the daughter of theater actress Lee Ran Hee. She also has an older sister. If you want to see more of her, we recommend watching her appearance in Lee Mujin Service. 2. Sakura
Next on the list is another familiar face. LE SSERAFIM's eldest member, Miyawaki Sakura, was also a former IZ*ONE member along with Chaewon. She was the one to be revealed and from then, the anticipation for LE SSERAFIM's debut skyrocketed. This Japanese member was born on March 19, 1998, under the Pisces star sign. She also has an IG account, @39saku_chan.
Before becoming a K-pop idol, she was part of the Japanese girl group, HKT48, and had a concurrent position in AKB48. Eventually, she made it as a K-pop idol after placing 2nd in her successful Produce 48 attempt. Sakura is really destined to be an idol from the beginning!
3. Yunjin
This LE SSERAFIM member is another alumna of Produce 48. Huh Yun Jin, or Yunjin, was the last member to be revealed. She was born in Seoul on October 8, 2001, but grew up in the USA. The Korean-American idol dreams of changing the idol industry. Just like us, she posts IG updates of her daily life. You can check her photos, @jenaissante.
Yunjin has always been musically inclined. It's hard to not notice how great of a vocalist she is. Did you know that she has a training background as an opera singer? She can also play ukulele and guitar! When it comes to dancing, she does it very gracefully. It's not just that, she can create her own masterpieces and one example is her song, "R_aise your glass." BRB, gonna listen to it again for the nth time!
4. Kazuha
If you ever watched the episodes of The Game Caterers that featured HYBE artists, it's impossible not to remember Kazuha. In a sea of idols, this female idol can shine effortlessly with her charms and grace. The Japanese member was born on August 9, 2003, and has lived in Amsterdam and Netherlands. Just like her eonnies (older sisters), she's also on IG with the username, @k_a_z_u_h_a__.
When she's in her element, you can see her dancing delicately. She has professional experience as a ballerina having won several ballet competitions domestically and internationally. From visuals to talent, Kazuha has everything to offer and of course, we all love to see it!
5. Eunchae
The group's maknae, Hong Eun Chae, was the third LE SSERAFIM member revealed. Born on November 10, 2006, Eunchae made her debut as a 15-year-old. Despite her young age, she's definitely ready to conquer the stage with her talent and skills. One noticeable charm she has is her contagious smile that can light up the world.
As the group's youngest member, Eunchae is confident in doing aegyo (though she doesn't need to try because she's naturally cute). She's also friends with Kep1er's Bahiyyih and Billie's Haruna. We stan a friendly idol right here!
As for LE SSERAFIM's career, we can see them pacing to a bright future in the industry. They already set a great impression through their debut EP which is full of high-quality songs. Of course, they also have the unending support of their FEARNOTs (their fandom name). In the meantime, we just have to wait for October 17 for them to make a comeback with their second mini-album, ANTIFRAGILE.
