Prepare your ~*feels*~: Lee Seung Gi indirectly referred to his girlfriend Lee Da In during his acceptance speech!
Over the weekend, the multi-talented Korean star attended the SBS Entertainment Awards which was hosted by him, along with TV personalities Jang Do Yeon and Han Hye Jin. Apart from being the event's MC, Seung Gi was also given two trophies— the Producer's Award (for Master In The House and Team Up 072) and Variety Star Of The Year.
When he accepted his award, Seung Gi did not forget to thank those who were there for him. This includes Da In, whom he reportedly started dating at the end of 2020: "This year hasn't been easy for me. I felt exhausted and had lots of worries in my head. During those times, there was this precious friend who had helped me overcome my struggles, and been very supportive. There were also many others around me who have given me a lot of support. I would like to thank them all. Thanks to them, I was able to come this far this year." (as translated by SBS Star)
Seung Gi further shared the pressure he felt as an entertainer. Since he has been juggling his singing, acting, and hosting career all at the same time, he found it hard to excel in all these fields. "I had to let my desires go and just be good enough at all those. This reality tortured me," he said.
Seung Gi ended his speech by saying that instead of following the path of others, he'll go on his own way: "I've always taken part in shootings with the mindset that I had to do well and prove myself to be good. But I came to realize that the production teams do more than they could to fill the side of me that I lack in. Thank you. And I also thank my fans for the love and support."
On May 24, Seung Gi and Da In's relationship was revealed by the news outlet Sports Kyunghyang. The report also mentioned that the two are both into acting and golf. Soon enough, the announcement was confirmed by their respective agencies.
