“Royals” singer Lorde just laughed off rumors she was lip-syncing during her performance on U.S. TV show Saturday Night Live over the weekend.
The 19-year-old singer performed “Magnets” on the show on Saturday, November 14, along with British band Disclosure. While fans enjoyed the performance, they suspected she was not singing live. Lorde took to Twitter to set the record straight.
wow - the fact that some people thought i was lip syncing on snl is an awesome compliment! goes without saying i have never/will never haha

It seems the tweet did the job as hordes of fans reacted to the note, with one telling her it must just mean she's iconic. Lorde added:
we're just a bunch of kids from far away places and we played on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE! it's all a bit overwhelming and i'm crazy grateful

Sam Smith was also on the show and the four pop stars hung out in New York after filming wrapped. Lorde, who wore her curly hair in a sleek straight style for the show, told followers they'd all gone out for pizza.
Sam, 23, also let fans know how he was feeling.
That just happened ❤️ love my brothers so much @disclosure so proud and honoured to have stood on… https://t.co/Bmvf6UpIhZ
