[This post contains spoilers for season one of Love Alarm.]
Netflix has been making original content for like, ever (well, since 2013), and this summer, they've finally made their first K-drama. Love Alarm is all about an app that rings when someone within a 10 meter radius loves you. Yup, that kind of technology causes just about as much drama as you could possibly imagine. The main character Jojo finds herself wrapped up in a messy, very public love triangle.
Love Alarm is incredibly binge-worthy. The only problem is...the final episode ends on a brutal cliffhanger, and a second season hasn't even been announced yet. Obviously, people are pretty furious about it.
Of course, there's not much to do besides question your entire existence mull over all the burning questions Love Alarm has left us with. Here are a few things that the second season should hopefully address.
1. WHO WILL JOJO END UP WITH?
The season ends with Jojo trying to decide between Sun-oh and Hye-young...which is pretty much the worst way a love triangle could ever end. At least with Twilight, Team Jacob girls had closure when Bella chose Edward. With Love Alarm, no matter whose side you're on, you're stuck with no answer.
2. WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO LOVE ALARM?
We know that the app is hugely controversial in Korea, especially after it was blamed for an assault in a park in Seoul. Is there a chance that the app will end forever? I mean, we were all devastated when Vine went under. I genuinely can't imagine how people would react if something as huge as Love Alarm disappeared.
3. DOES LOVE ALARM ALWAYS WORK?
Okay, hear me out. Lie detectors don't always work...how are we supposed to believe that Love Alarm delivers perfect results every time? Obviously the app has its flaws, but the way that Jojo described her initial attraction to Sun-oh in the second episode is questionable. She says it was like the "lightning before thunder," and that she wasn't in love with him right away. I'm not saying that she doesn't love Sun-oh, but in general, how the heck does this thing differentiate between love and lust?
4. WHO IS THE DEVELOPER OF LOVE ALARM?
The app developer's identity was previously anonymous. It really seemed like it was Duk-gu...until the launch of Love Alarm 2.0, where it seemed that he might be leading the anti-Love Alarm movement, instead. Unless, of course, he developed the app and then passed it along when he had a negative experience using it for himself.
5. WILL IL-SIK AND KIM JANG-GO END UP TOGETHER?
There's obviously something going on between Jojo's ex best friend, Kim Jang-go and ex boyfriend, Il-Sik. Well, we at least know that Kim Jang-go likes him. But will he eventually develop feelings for her, too?
