Just in time for Valentine’s Day this year, the cast and crew of the hit drama Maria Clara at Ibarra just surprised their fans with the *best* news: The teleserye will officially be extended! ICYDK, the show was supposed to air its final episode on February 17th, but because of the fans’ outpour of love for the drama, we’ll definitely see more of Klay, Fidel, and Simoun’s story!
The news was announced by David Licauco and Barbie Forteza on 24 Oras. “Hindi talaga namin ine-expect itong level ng pagmamahal sa amin ng mga viewers,” says Barbie. "Sino ba naman kami para hindi dinggin ang kanilang mga hinaing?”
She continued, “Thirteen years na hindi nakita ni Fidel si Klay. Parang ang sasandaling panahon lang nilang magkakasama. Parang ang unfair naman nun for Fidel. So let's give him more chance to spend time with Klay.” We’re so kilig!

David also assured fans that they will fall even more in ~*love*~ with #FiLay! “Mai-in love yung mga fans, yung mga supporters of FiLay kasi syempre yung mga scenes na ginawa namin [were] really sweet," he reveals. “Maraming roller coaster of emotions, biglang sasaya, tas biglang mai-in love, tas biglang malulungkot, iiyak, so yun kailangan nilang maabangan yun!”
