Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla is mourning the loss of her mother.
On Sunday, the actress announced the death of her mom, April Ihata. "Thanks for always being proud of me. Rest now mom,” she wrote, sharing a tribute filled with several photos of her mother’s memories with Mariel and her kids over the years.

In a separate Instagram post, Mariel simply captioned "Mom" with a white heart emoji, Mariel shared a video compilation of April's photos set to Bette Midler's "Wind Beneath My Wings."

Several famous friends shared their condolences with Mariel upon seeing the news. Ruffa Gutierrez wrote, "My deepest condolences, Ma Mhie. Sending love and light your way.”
"Prayers and tight hug, Ma," said Mariel's close friend Toni Gonzaga.
The TV host didn’t share further details about her mother’s passing.
