I'm not going to lie: The year was 2011 and I was one of those girls who obsessively watched—and rewatched—Crazy Little Thing Called Love with my friends after school. It was just the perfect rom-com and Mario Maurer and Baifern had so much chemistry! Plus, they legit made me want to visit Thailand.
Brace yourselves, because 10 years after their first movie's release, it looks like we're finally getting more Mario + Baifern content! On February 2, a fan account tweeted: "Mario Maurer and Baifern will be reuniting in a new Thai Movie [called] Laser Candy! No release date and other details yet but we're already looking forward [to] it!"
The tweet's source? A post from the Guru Magazine by Bangkok Post Facebook page, which states that the film will be "a modern love story set in the near future where an AI building is powered by human feelings. Due to a software glitch, it falls in love with a real girl, escapes the building into the body of a real man, and tries to win her affections." Filming for Laser Candy will reportedly begin on February 7.
In Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Nam (Baifern) develops a huge crush on P'Shone (Mario), and she does everything in her power to make him notice her. She even tries to change her looks and her personality (gasp)!
In March 2019, Baifern and Mario recreated a scene from their movie and made us all gush with kilig. Mario even wore a school uniform with heart stickers, just like in Crazy Little Thing Called Love!
