Markus Paterson has clarified the issue surrounding a remark he made recently that went viral.
In an episode of the podcast Boys After Dark, the actor expressed he no longer wanted to date celebs.
"Susunod na relationship?" Markus said. "Kung may lesson ako sa relationships ko, never to f*cking date someone in the industry. Wag nyo i-cut yan. Seryoso ako dyan."
Netizens speculated that he was referring to actress Janella Salvador, who also recently revealed in broadcast journalist Bernadette Sembrano's vlog that she's now a single mom.
In a statement, Markus noted that he wasn't referring to Janella when he said he was done dating someone in showbiz. He also confirmed that he and Janella have not been together for a while now.
"What I said in the podcast wasn’t actually about her but I understand that it was open to misinterpretation because of the way I phrased it and since we never actually announced our break up," he said.
"Just to clear up the facts, me and Janella have been broken up for almost a year," Markus added in an Insta Story. "She’s happy in life, and I’m happy in life and our only priority is Jude."
