Markus Patterson has cleared the air about the recent backlash he received when he said he was done dating celebrities. Netizens speculated that he was referring to his ex, Janella Salvador, who broke the news in an interview that she's now a single mom.
In the third episode of "Boys After Dark" uploaded on YouTube on September 17, Markus kicked off the conversation by saying, "If I could go back in time and change what I said, honestly, I would not. I stand by what I said because what I said comes from my past, from my truth, and that's my honest opinion about my future potential relationships."
The actor previously said that he wasn't referring to Janella and reminded people to not assume anything. He said, "Let's not jump to conclusions or anything because we kinda are."
Addressing Janella, the actor said, "I respect Janella to the utmost of my ability, the woman that she has become, the mother that she has become. I will love her forever. She has given me the best gift of my life."
Towards the end of the vlog, Markus also talked about the biggest regret of his life. He said that while he feels blessed with his life in the Philippines, his one regret was the decision to move to the Philippines because he left his elderly father in the United Kingdom.
Markus said that he never really wanted to become a celebrity. He said, "If I did not have Jude, I'd be back in the U.K. already. I'd be in the air force or in the army, but of course, at the end of the day, I just want to bring it to the fact na me and Janelle are good. We're friends, we are co-parenting because obviously, our priority is Jude. She's an amazing mother and I'm trying to be an amazing father."
Markus added that his biggest blessing is having Jude in his life thanks to Janella. "I will never not love her. Maybe not romantically anymore, but she'll always be a huge part of my heart."
