Michelle Dee, the daughter of beauty queen Melanie Marquez, revealed on Instagram that she’s joining the Miss World Philippines pageant happening on September 8, 2019.
Posting on Instagram on August 5, Michelle wrote, “I'm officially candidate #21 for #MWP2019. Today marks Day [one] of my @msworldphil journey. I just wanted to thank everyone for your unending support. It truly means the world to me. I hope I make all of you proud.”
On Instagram Stories, Michelle wrote, “Yesterday was such an experience! Please continue to support me and all the other girls throughout this journey.”
In an interview in August 2016, Michelle expressed her wish to follow in the footsteps of her mother who won the title of Miss International in 1979. Michelle said, “Yes, I do have plans to join. It’s been running through my mind ever since. Nafe-feel ko rin na may potential din sana ako.”
