Meryll Soriano and Joem Bascon rang in the New Year by revealing that they were parents to a baby boy. Posting pictures of their new family which included Meryll's teen son Elijah Palanca, the 38-year-old actress wrote on Instagram, "May this year be kinder to us all. May we all find peace, joy, and love. New year, new hopes, new positive outcomes. Happy New Year from our family to yours!"
Meryll has been posting more photos of her new life as a mom of two, from birth photos to her newborn's first month to precious snaps of the three "beautiful men" in her life.
On January 18, Meryll shared an intimate look at her pregnancy journey with Joem. The series of pictures documented her growing baby bump until finally holding her son in her arms. She wrote in the caption: "From egg to hooman. Mum & Dud Pregnancy Journey.'
It was in 2008 when Meryll and Joem first became a couple after they worked on the ABS-CBN series I Love Betty La Fea but broke up shortly after. Joem then got into a long-term relationship with vlogger Crisha Uy which lasted for eight years. In December 2019, Joem confirmed that they had broken up. After Meryll and Joem's New Year's Day photo with their new son surfaced (which was a confirmation of their rekindled romance as well), Crisha addressed the issue in a 13-minute long YouTube video titled "Reacting to Comments About ME And My EX (LAST NA 'TO HA?)." She revealed that she knew about the news prior to the announcement because they share the same set of friends: "Yes, alam ko na yung totoo, alam ko yung relationship nila, their bundle of blessing, long way before pa noong na-upload 'yan."
