Trigger warning: This article tackles sensitive details about an eating disorder.

The teen daughter of megastar Sharon Cuneta and politician Kiko Pangilinan can't help but turn emotional towards a netizen who told her to "stop eating rice."

"This comment was very unnecessary and unwarranted... and pretty offensive," said Miel Pangilinan, responding to a comment on her TikTok account.

"It feels condescending and I'm very, very tired of it. I'm sorry. The thing is I don't need this kind of concern from you because I have my own parents, my own siblings, and my own nutritionist properly looking out for me and my health," she declared in her TikTok video.

The comment led to Miel opening up about her eating disorder. "For the past few years or so, the past two years, I have been in recovery from eating disorder and body image issues.

She shared that she once obsessively avoided carbs which resulted in bad effects on her health at a young age. "Part of my eating disorder was a very obsessive focus on carbs and avoiding it which caused me to lose a lot of nutrition at a very early teenage," Miel explained.

"I don't know you and you don't know me. No matter how much of my content you consume, it does not give you the right or the knowledge of what's actually going on with my life for you to make this kind of comment," Miel stated.

She also disclosed how she's been trying her best to break free from her eating disorder. However, occasionally encountering mean comments about her health makes the process a bit harder.

"One of the things that I have been trying to re-learn is the fact that I have to stop eliminating important nutrients from my diet. I've been trying to get out of that thought process and it just gets me really bad when people make comments like these," she voiced out.

As she ended her video, she strongly reminded everyone on social media to mind their boundaries. "There needs to be a little bit more awareness of boundaries because this should not be a comment you should be saying to a random stranger," Miel said.
