FYI, Miley Cyrus Really Dislikes Being Called A 'Wife'

You know, despite being happily married to Liam Hemsworth.

Miley Cyrus—singer, actress, and badass woman married to Liam Hemsworth—wants everyone to know that she has a big problem with being called a "wife." But before you're like, "LOL, what?" hear the girl out. In her recent interview with ELLEMiley opened up briefly about her relationship with Liam and made it abundantly clear that she thinks the phrase is seriously outdated.

As you probably know, Miley and Liam officially tied the knot in December 2018 after one previously failed engagement. Since then, they have been the power couple I aspire to be in everyone loves. But Miley believes that a lot of people don't understand her marriage, which, TBH, is a pretty fair assessment. "I think it's very confusing to people that I'm married. But my relationship is unique," she told ELLE. "I don't know that I would ever publicly allow people in there because it's so complex and modern and new that I don't think we're in a place where people would get it." Protecting the details of your marriage from the public eye? Smart!

Miley then started spitting facts, primarily the fact that despite being a woman in a heterosexual marriage, she Still! Likes!! Girls!!! Oh, and she's also not a docile housewife. But why would we expect anything different from a woman who "Can't Be Tamed?" (Sorry.)

"Do people really think that I'm at home in a fucking apron cooking dinner? I'm in a hetero relationship, but I still am very sexually attracted to women," she said. "I made a partner decision. This is the person I feel has my back the most. I definitely don't fit into a stereotypical wife role. I don't even like that word." Okay—maybe it's just me, but if Liam Hemsworth, one of the tallest, most thirst-quenching glasses of water in Hollywood called me his wife, I wouldn't be all that mad! Regardless, Miley's opinion is totally valid.

Miley, when asked about her parents' relationship, said she respects that they don't really use the "husband and wife" label all that much. "They were always partners. That's why I like that word," she said,"'Husband and wife' sounds like a cigarette commercial from the '50s to me." LOL, okay then!

Hats off to Miley and Liam, though, whose marriage appears to be off to a great start. The, er, partners in crime [???] will be celebrating their first anniversary later this year.
