Miss Earth Philippines 2018, held on May 19, 2018 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, saw 41 candidates compete for the title. In the end, the crown was passed on by Miss Earth Philippines 2017 Karen Ibasco to her successor, Silvia Celeste Cortesi, 20.
According to her profile on the Miss Philippines Earth website, she is five feet and eight inches tall, and is a model. On the same profile, she was asked to describe her childhood, to which she said, "I had a tough life as a child, but never lost my will to live life happily and be hopeful on greater things to have a peaceful life." In the pageant, she represented Fil-Rome, Italy.
During the question and answer portion, all the contestants were asked the same question: "The deterioration of Boracay left our President with no choice but to close the island for six months for rehabilitation. What should be done to make sure that what happens to Boracay does not happen to our other tourist destinations?"
Cortesi said that she agrees with the decision of President Duterte, and thinks that Boracay needs a drainage system so that the trash does not go directly to the sea. She also suggested that the hotels need to be managed better.
