One of our most anticipated events as a pageant-loving nation has arrived: the 2023 run of Miss Universe has ended. It’s always a joy to watch queens rock the world—or the universe, rather—with their beauty and brains, and this year was no different as we watched Michelle Marquez Dee take the stage.
MMD took us all the way to the Top 10, marking our return to the semifinal rounds since last years run. Taking the crown home is Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua (their first win ever!), with runner up Anntonia Porsild of Thailand. This year’s coronation night was held in San Salvador, El Salvador.
Our queen Michelle Dee meanwhile walks away from the competition as a member of the top 10, and while she may have not won the crown, she sure impressed everyone around the world with her confident sashay in her red, body-hugging swimsuit and her stunning black evening gown inspired by Apo Whang-Od.
And of course, this pageant-crazy nation, Filipinas, had a lot to say—not just about Michelle Dee but also about Catriona Gray, who was one of this year’s hosts. We scoured the Internet and rounded up the best tweets about Miss U. From Catriona Gray and her excellent hosting skills to all the best moments from Michelle Dee's journey, and more.
