It's official: Celeste Cortesi is Miss Universe Philippines 2022! 

The 24-year-old from Pasay City bested 31 other candidates at the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 live coronation night at the Mall of Asia Arena, on April 30. We're sure you're curious about our newly crowned kween, so we compiled 9 facts and trivia about her. 

Here's what we know about Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi:

1. She's half Filipina and half Italian. She was born in Pasay City and raised in Italy.

   In an Instagram post, she thanked her Pinay mom for introducing her to "the part of being Filipina which for a long time I [ignored] and I felt sorry for it." 

2. Her name is pronounced as che-leste. 

3. Miss Universe Philippines isn't her first national pageant. She's also the Miss Earth Philippines 2018 titleholder!

4. She's a model. Currently, she's also pursuing her real estate license. 

5. She advocates for indigenous people and their land rights.

   Celeste previously talked about her advocacy in an interview with The Qrown Philippines: "My advocacy is about indigenous people. Because me being half-Filipina I really wanted to discover who was the Filipino... I want to go to places in the Philippines and experience their culture. And I would also bring more awareness on their land rights because as a real estate agent, I also want to do that. I also want to teach people and help them be more aware of the small groups here in the Philippines that are sometimes not heard or seen enough by the community."
