Uh-oh, the Miss Universe organization has suspended Miss Brand Corp, the organizers of Miss USA, following allegations that the recent pageant had been *rigged*.
According to a report by FOX News, contestants started complaining that the competition's winner, Filipino-American fashion designer Miss Texas R'Bonney Gabriel, had allegedly been predetermined. R'Bonney was crowned Miss USA 2022 on October 3.
"After thorough deliberation, Miss Universe Organization has decided to suspend Miss Brand immediately," read the Miss Universe Organization's statement to Fox News Digital.
The statement also mentioned that the Miss Universe Organization will be taking control of the Miss USA program as a third-party investigation takes place.
"Our commitment to contestants and fans is our priority, and we will keep them top of mind as we move forward," the organization added.
Prior to the release of the statement, an e-mail had been sent to Miss USA 2022 contestants, which included Miss Montana Heather Lee O’Keefe. Heather had earlier criticized the pageant, saying, "I feel like, and a lot of other contestants feel like, they had already predetermined the winner. We were just there as puppets to put on this show for them to make it seem like there was a pageant."
She also pointed out in a TikTok video that it seemed R'Bonney had started enjoying her prize package as Miss USA weeks before being crowned.
"A little suspect when the sponsor posted a video of her at their resort last night, less than 24 hours after she's crowned. And upon further research, if you view their Instagram Story, they have a highlight video of her getting a treatment there nine weeks ago. The competition was last night and she was already receiving her prize package as Miss Universe nine weeks ago?"
