When we decide to get tattoos, there's almost always a special meaning behind them, and the same goes for our fave celebs! Some of their acting projects have been so significant that it made them decide to get inked in honor of the experience. Here, seven pairs and cast members who got matching tattoos before—and after—their films and TV shows:
1. The Stars Of Never Not Love You
James Reid and Nadine Lustre sported matching tattoos—fake ones—while shooting their film. In an Instagram post by director Antoinette Jadaone, we saw the couple with the words "ikaw at ako" and "you and me" inked on their arms!
2. The Always Be My Maybe Love Team
For their first film together, Gerald Anderson and Arci Muñoz got temporary tattoos representing their characters! Arci got an image of a cherry blossom because her character is "very romantic," while Gerald had arrows inked across his arms because it represents his character's search for direction in life.
3. The Pretty Little Liars Cast
PLL stars Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario, Shay Mitchell, Janel Parrish, Sasha Pieterse, and Ashley Benson got the first initial of their character's names inked on their index fingers (aka their "shh" fingers) to celebrate the end of the series!
4. The OG Avengers
FYI, the tattoos were Scarlett Johansson's idea! She got the letter "A" tattoed on her bod with Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, and Robert Downey Jr. (FYI, Mark Ruffalo opted out of the tattoo sesh because he's afraid of needles!)The tattoo looks like a combination of the Avengers logo wrapped behind a number six, presumably for the six original superheroes: Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye.
5. The Lord Of The Rings Cast
In 2001, Orlando Bloom and the rest of the main Lord Of The Rings cast got matching tattoos by the end of filming The Fellowship Of The Ring in England. They all got the same characters inked on different parts of their bodies: The word "nine" in Elvish!
6. The 13 Reasons Why Team
The show's stars, Alisha Boe and Tommy Dorfman, got matching semicolon tattoos with executive producer Selena Gomez. The semicolon has been popularized as a symbol of new beginnings. It was first used by the suicide prevention organization Project Semicolon.
7. Sansa And Arya From Game Of Thrones
Onscreen sisters Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams got matching tattoos in honor of the show that brought them together. They had the date "07.08.09" inked on their arms, the day they both found out that they'd gotten their roles for GoT!
