It seems like Nadine Lustre went on an unfollowing spree on Instagram, and eagle-eyed fans were fast enough to spot it. Among those celebrities whom Nadine unfollowed were her ex-boyfriend James Reid and James' current girlfriend, Issa Pressman.
Well, the whole unfollowing thing comes four years after Nadine and James publicly called it quits. Apparently, some fans have long waited for this day to come for Nadine to cut her Instagram ties with James and Issa.
Her cutting of IG ties also comes after the fact that James declared that he won't be coming back to act with a love team. Asked if he'd be down to do a reunion project with JaDine, he answered in an interview, "I don't think so. Siguro out of respect for my partner, my girlfriend. I wouldn't do another love team project again. Also for my mental health and peace of mind."
Aside from James and Issa, the Internet has discovered that Nadine and Issa's sister, Yassi Pressman, are no longer Instagram mutuals. It's quite a big deal for fans because Nadine and Yassi have long been known to be close friends—at least when Nadine and James were still together.
Since Nadine and James broke up, there have been no major public interactions reported—except when they greeted each other at a brand event back in 2023. The ex-couple made beso with each other and posed for a photo with the other celebrities present. Issa and Yassi were also there, but only Nadine and Yassi acknowledged each other's presence, also in a very friendly beso.
Nadine Lustre's History With James Reid And The Pressmans
So...why are some Nadine stans rejoicing after the unfollowing spree? To keep you up to speed (if you still aren't), there have been longstanding allegations (keyword!) that James cheated on Nadine with Issa. James and Yassi have defended Issa from the allegations. But despite that, people seemed to have believed otherwise, especially when they couldn't take JaDine's breakup lightly.

Of course, James himself tried to put the rumors to rest. After he officially announced his new relationship with Issa in March 2023, James defended her by saying, "I'm only gonna say this once. The past rumors about Issa are just that, rumors." He added in an Instagram Story, "All you need to know from me is that I'm the happiest I've ever been," referring to how content he is to be with Issa.
Subsequently, Yassi was bombarded with questions about her friendship with Nadine after her sister and Nadine's ex-boyfie solidified their relationship. In a March 2023 press conference, Yassi opened up and revealed her side of the story. "Sige po para tapos na po ha. Isang beses ko lang po 'tong sasabihin. Wala pong problema," she said.
At the time, Yassi clarified that she and Nadine were still friends and Nadine was caring enough to also comfort Yassi amid the controversies. "She [Nadine] said, 'Sorry to hear that. I hope you are feeling better'," Yassi stated in March 2023.
As of writing, Yassi is also not following Nadine on Instagram anymore. While James and Issa are still Nadine's followers.
