Who Is 'Nevertheless' Actress Lee Ho Jung?

There seems to be a consensus online that if you're not watching JTBC’s Nevertheless for the main love triangle, then you're most likely in it for the infuriatingly heart-thumping slow burn between childhood best friends Yoon Sol and Seo Ji Wan. 2. She started out as a model.

   Before venturing into acting, Ho Jung first debuted as a model at the young age of 16. As per her official agency profile, this 5'6" beauty stood out for her confident runway strut and "unique mask." Since her 2012 debut, Ho Jung has modeled for Dior, Vogue Korea, Allure, Elle Korea, Nylon, and has even appeared on the cover of L’Officiel Singapore. In her exclusive interview with the magazine, Ho Jung revealed that she pursued this certain career path after seeing Korean supermodel Jang Yoon Ju on an episode of the variety show.

3. She's appeared in several music videos.

   Ho Jung's modeling career didn't just find her on the runway or the glossy pages of a magazine. Prior to her acting debut, she was also cast in a number of music videos for known Korean artists. The list includes K.Will's You Don't Know Love, BigBang's Let's Not Fall In Love, and Zico's I Am You, You Are Me.

4. She made her acting debut in 2016.

   Ho Jung debuted with a minor role in the 2016 historical drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. She portrayed Ae Ra, IU's friend who soon betrays her. Apart from Nevertheless, you can also find her playing support characters in the K-dramas Night Light, and Let Me Introduce Her, and the films Unalterable, and Midnight Runners where she starred alongside Park Seo Joon and Kang Ha Neul.

   Speaking of her YouTube, Ho Jung uploaded a vlog in 2019 dedicated to her vacation in Cebu! The actress shared clips from her trip, which includes her snorkeling in the province's clear turquoise waters, enjoying the local delicacy, and even riding a jeepney. Watch her full vlog below!

7. She once shaved off her hair for a movie role.

   In 2019, Ho Jung was featured as a supporting character in the award-winning Korean action-war film The Battle Of Jangsari. The actress shaved off her long locks for the role in order to accurately portray the image of a student soldier named Moon Jong Nyeo. Cutting off all her hair didn't come easy for Ho Jung, who documented the entire experience in a YouTube vlog. "I didn't cry at that time. After the haircut, I never cried. I was just angry," she shared while watching the clips. "When I looked at the mirror, I couldn't get used to my appearance, which drove me crazy." She also mentioned that she had to sport a wig for awhile after the haircut since she couldn't publicly show her new 'do until the movie came out.
