*June 2021 Update*
Yes, I'm kinda bummed too: the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page) will not be coming back for Season 2 of the hit Netflix series Bridgerton. But as a mature ~grown-up~, I shall move past it and focus on the show's new characters instead!
ICYMI, the second season will focus on Anthony Bridgerton's love story, and he is ~determined~ to find a wife. He is now the ton's most eligible bachelor, and "after Anthony chooses the woman he wants to marry, her sister (who actually kinda hates Anthony) very quickly becomes the woman he can't stop thinking about."
Yes, we're talking about this gentleman, played by the amazing Jonathan Bailey:
I am personally so psyched for the next season because we will be presented with a South Asian leading lady! Earlier this year, Netflix announced that Simone Ashley will be playing leading lady Kate Sharma, and just a few weeks later, more new cast members were *unveiled*.
Here are six new characters we can't wait to meet in Bridgerton Season 2:
1. Simone Ashley as Kate Sharma
Character description: "Newly arrived in London, Kate is a smart, headstrong young woman who suffers no fools—Anthony Bridgerton very much included...Her sharp wit and independent nature make her a singular force on the 1814 marriage mart, where she hopes to secure a love match for her younger sister, Edwina."

2. Charithra Chandran as Edwina Sharma, Kate's sister
